Arbonia adjusts outlook for 2026 and continues to expect solid development
|
Arbonia AG / Key word(s): Profit Warning/Profit Collapse Arbon, 2 November 2026 - Arbonia is adjusting its revenue and EBITDA expectations for the 2026 financial year. The main reason is a slower-than-expected normalisation of revenue in the German business, after the market environment in Germany weakened further since the middle of the year. At the same time, the rest of the European business continues to develop favourably. For the companies outside Garant, Arbonia expects EBITDA to increase by more than 15% compared with the previous year. Arbonia now expects revenue for 2026 to be at the prior-year level of around CHF 625 million and EBITDA of around CHF 50 million. The market environment in Germany has become more challenging than expected in recent weeks. Demand in the new-build and renovation markets remained below previous assumptions. At the same time, geopolitical tensions once again resulted in higher material and freight costs. These developments are slowing the expected normalisation of revenue in the German business, although the operational situation continues to improve. By contrast, business in the other European markets is showing solid to very good development. The companies outside the German area of weakness are contributing significantly to Arbonia’s operational stability, with EBITDA expected to increase by more than 15% compared with the previous year. The Glass Solutions Business Unit is also developing positively overall, while order intake in individual German market segments is more subdued and competitive and pricing pressure has increased. The operational processes at Garant have stabilised following the SAP/ERP implementation, and delivery performance is above the level prior to the system changeover. The recovery is therefore continuing, but is progressing more slowly than originally anticipated due to the weaker market environment and subdued order intake. Against this backdrop, Arbonia now expects revenue for the 2026 financial year to be at the prior-year level of around CHF 625 million and EBITDA of around CHF 50 million. The other guidance parameters for 2026 remain unchanged. At the same time, Arbonia is consistently implementing the measures already initiated to further increase profitability. The largely implemented cost and efficiency measures will generate annual savings of at least CHF 5 million from 2027. They include, among other things, personnel adjustments as well as leaner management structures and functions. In parallel, Arbonia is driving the development of new markets, the expansion of the project business and the further development of additional sales channels, including the DIY business. In doing so, the company is broadening its growth base while reducing its dependence on the German market and residential new construction. Arbonia is strategically well positioned as a leading European door manufacturer. The positive operational development in the other European markets, the ongoing recovery in the German business, the leaner cost structure and the targeted expansion into new markets and sales channels are strengthening the basis for the company’s further development. With these measures, Arbonia is improving its competitive position and creating the conditions to benefit disproportionately from a future recovery in the European construction markets.
